Whether you want to evolve an Ampharos with the featured attack Dragon Pulse or you need a Shiny Mareep for your collection, this Community Day Classic is the perfect time to do it. Just make sure you're ticking off your Special Research tasks along the way to get all of those rewards!

How to get the Mareep Special Research quest
The only way to take part in the Mareep Community Day Classic Special Research quest is to purchase a ticket from the in-game Shop for $1 (£0.99) or the equivalent pricing in your local currency.
You'll also need to open the Pokemon GO app during event hours - that's 2PM to 5PM on Saturday, November 25, 2023 - to actually claim the quest.
Once you've done this, you can complete the quest at your own pace as there's no expiration date, but I would recommend finishing as much as you can during the event as most of the tasks involve catching or evolving Mareep.
