How to get Varoom in Pokemon GO & can it be Shiny?
Steel/Poison-type Pokemon Varoom is coming to Pokemon GO, so learn how to get Varoom and its Evolution, Revavroom, and if the Single-Cyl Pokemon can be Shiny.
The latest Gen 9 Pokemon to debut in Pokemon GO is none other than the Single-Cyl 'mon, Varoom. This unique Steel/Poison-type could potentially shake up the Pokemon GO meta, but to find out, you'll need to capture it first!
Let's review how to get Varoom and its Evolution, Revavroom, alongside if the game's newest addition can be Shiny.
When & how can you get Varoom in Pokemon GO?
Starting January 27, 2024, you'll be able to hatch Varoom from 12km Eggs. While Varoom is debuting as part of the limited-time Taken Treasures event, you'll still be able to find the Single-Cyl Pokemon in 12km Eggs after it's wrapped up on February 1, 2024.
To get 12km Eggs in Pokemon GO, you must defeat Team GO Rocket Leaders like Sierra, Cliff, Arlo, and Giovanni.
Can Varoom be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
You won't be able to get a Shiny variant of Varoom in Pokemon GO just yet, but Niantic will likely introduce Shiny Varrom at a later date.
Shiny Varoom exists in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, but Niantic typically waits to debut Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO.
How to evolve Varoom to Revavroom in Pokemon GO
Revavroom, the Multi-Cyl Pokemon, evolves from Varoom, and all you need to do is get 50 Varoom Candy and use it on Varoom to evolve it.
If you're short on Varoom Candy, you can hatch 12km Eggs, use Rare Candy, or set Varoom as your Buddy Pokemon to get additional Candy.
That's everything you need to know about the debut of Varoom and its Evolution, Revavroom, in Pokemon GO. Trainers can find even more content on our Pokemon GO homepage for details on the next Spotlight Hour, event, or what's in the Shop!
