Evolve Charcadet with this item in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Here is how to evolve Charcadet in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet - which can only be evolved with the help of a specific item, requiring a few steps to get it first.
Want to evolve your Charcadet in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? This new Pocket Monster first appearing in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has an unusual method for evolving that is easy to miss.
Here is everything you need to know to evolve the Pokemon.
How to evolve Charcadet
To evolve Charcadet in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, you need one of two specific items: Auspicious Armor to evolve it into Armarouge in Scarlet, and Malicious Armor to evolve it into Ceruledge in Violet.
In both games, you have to do mostly the same thing to get the armour items. First, you need to head to Zapapico, a small town tucked away in the western corner of East Province (Area Three).
In the centre of town, just north of the battle area, a lady is standing next to a small fountain. If you approach her, you will see a yellow speech bubble saying "Fancy a trade?".
Speak to the lady and she will tell you how she is a collector of curiosities. She has an unusual item that she will trade to you for ten of a certain item. In Violet, she will give you the Malicious Armor for ten Sinistea Chips.
In Scarlet, she gives the Auspicious Armor for ten Bronzor Fragments. These items are acquired from battling those particular Pokemon.
Finding Sinistea and Bronzor isn't too difficult. Sinistea can be found around Zapapico, just search the areas around the town at night. Defeat or catch enough of them to gather ten Sinistea Chips.
For Bronzor, you can often find them around ruins, such as the ruins on the south side of the river west of Levincia. Same as with Sinistea, catch or defeat as many Bronzor as you need to to get your ten Bronzor Fragments.
Once you have what you need, go to the lady in Zapapico and trade her for the armour. Once you have it, use it in your Bag with a Charcadet in your party to evolve it into either Armarouge or Ceruledge.
How to catch Charcadet
Charcadet can be found in many locations, but I managed to find one in West Province (Area Three), as shown in the image above. As another example, you can also find one near Cortondo in South Province (Area Two).
From the Pokemon Centre at the western end of the town, take the road up the hill. At the first hairpin turn, you will see an entrance in the rock in the corner. Go through there into a small clearing, and you will find a Charcadet. They can be around Levels 14 to 16, so it shouldn't cause many players too much trouble.
