Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown 'The Moon Gatherer' quest walkthrough
Take a look at our full walkthrough of The Moon Gatherer quest in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, so you can get the rewards for finding the Moon Gatherer's locations.
Many quests in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will take you all across Mount Qaf, and The Moon Gatherer is another example of this, where you help a man convinced the moon has been stolen to find the missing pieces.
Prince of Persia is back, but it may look a little different to most players, thanks to a brand new 2.5D perspective and metroidvania level design that allows you to explore a seamless open world. In addition to the main story, side quests like The Architect or The Lost Warriors let you explore the nooks and crannies of Mount Qaf to uncover all its secrets.
If you need help with finding some of these locations for The Moon Gatherer, then check out exactly how to complete the quest in the game below.
How to start The Moon Gatherer in Prince of Persia
Starting The Moon Gatherer requires you to find the titular character in the Sacred Archives during your first visit to the area (marked on the map above).
To find him, after you first enter the Sacred Archives, keep following the path forward until you first meet the Jailer during a short cutscene.
Continue forward into the next room, and follow the stairs ahead down until you see a blue moon symbol floating in the corridor.
Keep moving past this into another room, and destroy the wooden barricade at the end to access the final room. You can find The Moon Gatherer in here, and interacting with him will begin the quest.
Moon Gatherer location 1
For the first part of the quest, you will need to find him somewhere in The Depths. Continue following the story until you come to this location, and then complete The Tiger and the Rat quest to access your map again.
From here, head back up the way you came until you come to the small elevator. Using your new shadow power, you can teleport through the elevator floor to find Fariba and one of the map locations.
Now go to the right and up until you come to a flooded room. Using the switches on either wall, drain the room and drop down into the bottom right. Destroy the wooden barricade blocking the circular door, and you can find the first Moon Gatherer location.
Moon Gatherer location 2
The second Moon Gatherer location will take you to the Sunken Harbour. However, upon your first visit, you won't be able to find him. Instead, continue to follow the main quest until you receive the Dimensional Claw power.
After this, you can now access the eastern section of the Sunken Harbour region by blowing up the wall blocking the way. Head inside and find the Wak Wak Tree by dropping down from the first room.
Drop down again into the room below, and if you make your way to the bottom left of this room, you can find him on top of a ship's mast. Just defeat the large crab that spawns in to free him and continue the quest.
Moon Gatherer location 3
Pit of Eternal Sands is the next place you need to visit, but you can find the Moon Gatherer much quicker this time.
From where you first enter this area, head either left or right until you can loop back around into the room underneath, which should have an icon of some buildings in the middle.
You need to get to the very bottom of this room, where you can drop down into a room with a Wak Wak Tree. Instead of dropping down further, head left and attack the wall to reveal a hidden area.
Inside, you can find the Moon Gatherer by destroying the large vase he's trapped within.
Moon Gatherer location 4
The final Moon Gatherer location is found within the Tower of Silence, one of the final areas of the game.
You'll make your way here as part of the main quest once you've unlocked the sash ability, so keep following it along until you come to the large room with falling ice boulders.
After you arrive here, drop down the first chute when there's a gap in the falling boulders, and at the bottom dash to the left to find a gravedigger enemy on a bridge. The Moon Gatherer is inside the coffin on its back, so defeat the enemy to free him one final time.
He'll thank you for helping him out and reward you with an additional health potion, allowing you to reach the maximum of five.
