Here’s everything you need to know about how to setup a PS5 and all the instructions, so you can be experiencing the new generation in no time.
- Make sure you nab one of the best PS5 games for your new console
How To Set Up A PS5: Assume The Position
The first thing you’re going to want to do is choose which way you’re displaying your new baby. You can set it up vertically or horizontally, but make sure that whichever way you’re doing it, use the stand provided in the box. The console’s balance could be easy to throw off without it, and especially if it’s standing upright, you don’t want to knock it over with the disc of your favourite game inside.
How To Set Up A PS5: Connect To A Display
It’s pretty obvious, really, but you want to connect the console to your television or monitor next. Stick one end in the console and the other in the display, and hey presto, you’re away. You should also connect your console to power, and plug in your new DualSense controller to turn it on.
How To Set Up A PS5 - Connect To The Internet
Next you want to be connected to the internet - if you skipped this step in the set-up screen, you can do it by going to Settings > Network > Settings > Set up > Internet Connection. Pop in your Wifi details, and you’re off.
How To Set Up A PS5 - Update The PS5
The next best thing to do is check the console is completely updated. Go to Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings. You can check your version there, and if there’s a new software update to be downloaded, it will appear and prompt you to download it.
How To Set Up A PS5 - Connect PS5 Console to PSN
From this point you can connect to the PlayStation Network, either with a brand new account or an existing one. You can do this through your console, or via the PlayStation app.
And that’s your lot! From this point you’re online and able to download the wealth of games waiting for you on the PS Store. Enjoy the experience, and enjoy gloating to your mates that you actually bagged a PS5.
