Learning about combining treasures in Resident Evil 4 Remake is important if you want to get the most money possible, as you can then spend it on increasing your arsenal and upgrading your weapons.

So, take a look at our rundown of combining treasures.

How do you combine treasures?

Some treasures like chalices or masks come with recesses or indentations on them, allowing you to inlay them with different gemstones to increase their value.

To see if a treasure can be combined, navigate to the 'Key Items & Treasures' screen in the menu, and then select a treasure.

Treasures that can be combined will have the option to 'Inlay Gemstones'. If you then select this, it will take you to a screen where you can see the number of gemstones in your inventory, the current value of the treasure, and its gemstone bonus.

From this screen, you can select a gemstone, which will let you place it within one of the recesses. Once you slot a gemstone in, you can still remove it, so nothing is finalised until you sell it to the Merchant.

Gemstone bonuses

How to combine treasures in Resident Evil 4 Remake: Gemstone bonuses

There are six types of gemstones in the game: round ones which come in red, blue, and yellow, and rectangular ones which come in green, purple, and red.

The shape of an indentation on a treasure dictates which type of gemstone you can slot in, so not all gemstones can be used with all treasures.

There are also different gemstone bonuses to be mindful of that increase the value of a treasure. The bonus a treasure receives is dependent on the amount and colour of the gemstones that are inlaid.

Below are all the gemstone combinations and the modifiers a treasure will receive:

  • Two colours - x1.1
  • Duo - x1.2
  • Three colours - x1.3
  • Trio - x1.4
  • Two duos - x1.5
  • Four colours - x1.6
  • Quartet - x1.7
  • Duo and trio - x1.8
  • Quintet - x1.9
  • Five colours - x2.0

Once you have inlaid the gemstones in a treasure, in the bottom left of the screen, you can see the individual value of the treasure and the gemstones, the total value of them combined, and the gemstone bonus being applied.

Why not also check all the Blue Medallion locations in Farm area of Resident Evil 4 Remake, so you can get some rewards to trade in at the Merchant.
