Resident Evil 4 Remake is in many ways the same game as the original, just expanded with new features, improvements, alterations, and much more. Some of the changes in the game are massive, such as the ability to move while aiming, but others like customizing the attaché case are more subtle.

However, it turns out a little customization can go a long way in making Leon more capable, so check out our breakdown of customizing the attaché case in the game.

How do you customize the attaché case?

To customize the attaché case, you will need to head to a typewriter in a safe room or near a Merchant shop. There you can interact with the typewriter, and then select the 'Customize Case' option.

There are two main ways to customize your case: changing the attaché case skin itself or equipping charms. Both of these are more than just aesthetic changes too, as attaché case skins and charms both give Leon useful perks that have passive benefits.

For example, the standard silver attaché case increases the drop rate for Handgun ammo, and you can potentially get a charm called Striker which increases your running speed by +8%.

You can only have one attaché case skin, but up to three charms can be equipped at once, giving you some room when it comes to creating a build and combining effective perks together.

There are a couple of ways to get attaché case skins and charms in the game.

Firstly, players who pre-ordered the game automatically receive the gold attaché case skin and a Handgun Ammo charm. If you purchased the digital deluxe edition, you also get the classic attaché case skin and a Green Herb charm.

As for in-game ways to earn them, you can get attaché case skins from the Merchant with either Spinel or ptas, depending on how far into the game you have progressed.

Charms on the other hand can be earned by collecting tokens from the shooting range and then depositing them into the token machine by the entrance. You can get better tier charms depending on what tokens you put in, with three gold tokens guaranteed to net you a Legendary charm.

Learning how to combine treasures in Resident Evil 4 Remake will ensure you make as many ptas as possible to spend at the Merchant.
