Here's how you can find & use the Reconstructor in Returnal
This guide details where you can find a Reconstructor Xeno Tech in Returnal while talking about the resource you need to activate and use it.
The Reconstructor is one of the many Xeno-Tech in Returnal that players can use to make the experience a little less punishing. Since the world of Returnal changes every time you die, players find it hard to locate and use a Reconstructor. This is where our guide comes in handy as we share details on how you can easily it in the game.
How do you find and use a Reconstructor?
In Returnal, you can find a Reconstructor at the small white symbol with an alien-like entity made with sticks inside a circle. The icon represents the location of a Reconstructor, which you can see on your mini-map.
Since the map in Returnal changes with each run and our experiences are entirely different, the location of Reconstructor differs for each player. Irrespective of your current run, most of the Reconstructors spawn at the starting parts of a level or the near end.
If you want to find and use them, we highly recommend keeping an eye on your mini-map. Once you see the Reconstructor icon, make your way toward it, and you will find a big circular Xeno-Tech with an alien mold. Granted you have the required resource; you can use the Reconstructor as a one-time checkpoint.
You can use a Reconstructor by activating it using six Ether. Once a Reconstructor is activated, instead of restarting a new cycle from the Overgrown Ruins, you spawn at the Reconstructor with full HP, enemies defeated, same level layout, and so on.
Since it is only one-time use, it is recommended to activate a Reconstructor only when you have made substantial progress.
How to get Ether in Returnal
As said earlier, you need six Ether to activate a Reconstructor, and since the procedurally generated maps make it impossible for two players to have the same level layout and item location, we recommend completing Daily Challenges to earn Ether.
Apart from that, you can also get Ether at the locations with a pink diamond-like icon in your mini-map. So, when you are exploring, keep a lookout for these icons. When they are visible, make your way towards it and you will find the Ether.
