SMTV Aogami Essences unlock Nahobino exclusive skills when found, but you will need to go on a hunt for them. There are eleven of them to be found, each with their own bonuses. With that in mind, here is everything you need to know about Shin Megami Tensei V Aogami Essences and where to find them.

The first Aogami Essence in SMTV can be found early on in the adventure and unlocks one of the best early-game skills. To claim your prize, simply head east from the Hamamatsucho Leyline and cross the first highway. Once you have done that, look for the distinct yellow treasure box and destroy it. If you were successful, the first Aogami Essence is now yours.
To use essence in SMTV, you need to use the Leyline Crossing to enter the World of Shadows and select Apotheosis from the list of options. Now that you know what to do, select the Aogami Type-1 essence to unlock Aramasa, a physical skill that deals with eight consecutive weak attacks against a single enemy.
To find the second Aogami Essence in SMTV, you will need to traverse to the Nagatacho Leyline and head west. Just like with the previous one, look for two yellow boxes; the Aogami Essence is located in the box at the back. Using Aogami Type-2 Essence will unlock Miracle Water, a healing skill that provides all allies with low HP recovery. It’s imperative to find skills such as this one, as you will find yourself consistently healing your party both in and out of battle.
For this one, head over to the Tennozu Isle Leyline Crossing and cross the bridge. As per usual, head north this time and destroy the yellow treasure box to claim your third prize. Aogami Type-3 Essence allows you to equip the Nahobino with Sakanagi, a medium almighty strength attack against a single foe. You will want to grab almighty skills whenever possible, as all enemies are vulnerable to it, instead of the usual weakness guessing game.
The fourth essence can be obtained by transporting to the Konan 3rd Block Leyline. Once you arrive in this location, traverse across the railroad towards the south of the map. In this area, there is a place you can fall into on the east side called the Container Yard. Again, locate the yellow treasure box to obtain Aogami Type-4, which includes Ruinous Thunder, a heavy electric attack against one enemy.

Make your way to the iconic Shinagawa Station Leyline, then start to head southeast. Now, you want to focus on continuing across the river until you reach the beautiful waterfall. Upon arrival, climb onto the nearby hill and destroy the treasure box to snag Aogami Type-5. This time around, you will receive a skill called Kannabi Veil, which decreases damage to all party members for one turn. This will be especially useful during boss encounters, so take note of its location.
The sixth essence can be found near the Sukiyabashi Leyline, so start to head northeast. As soon as you reach the end, turn northwest to start traversing along the highway. When you notice a building, turn left to find the sixth yellow treasure box underneath the cliff. This one in particular is definitely worth your time, as it unlocks Divine Arrowfall, a heavy almighty attack against all enemies.
This time around, you will want to warp over to the Kana Shrine Leyline Crossing and drop down from the cliff to the south. Now that you’re on the highway, turn southeast when you get to the end and continue heading in a straight line. Just like with the previous one, when you see a building, drop down from the cliff to find the seventh Aogami Essence in SMTV. Your prize will be Wrath Tempest, another multiple-hit skill that deals with eight weak physical attacks against random enemies, however, you now have a higher critical hit rate.
This one is very straightforward, so make your way over to the Otemachi Leyline. Simply climb the nearby platforms to find the treasure box at the end of the path. This will net you the eighth essence in the game, which unlocks Profaned Land, a heavy dark attack against a single enemy, with a chance of inflicting poison on your opponent.
Essence number nine can be discovered by heading over to the Shinobazu Pond Leyline and heading west. After a while, you will come to a fork in the road, so you will want to proceed to the right. Eventually, you’ll find yourself on yet another highway, and this time you will want to turn southeast at the end before going straight. Do your usual task of destroying the treasure box to get the ninth essence in the game, unlocking Thalassic Calamity. This skill deals with three-to-seven weak ice attacks against random enemies.
This one is another simple ordeal, requiring you to warp over to the Komagata Leyline crossing before heading west. Soon enough, you will find yourself by a building, so you will want to go behind it to discover the tenth treasure box you need to find the elusive essence. Revival Chant is the skill that you unlock, a revival skill that summons a single demon in your party back to full HP.
The final essence can be located east of the Asakusa Leyline. Luckily for you, this is another easy task, as you only need to climb around the nearby block to destroy the final essence treasure box. Murakuimo is a severe almighty-strength attack that deals enhanced damage if it's a critical hit. This is probably one of the best skills in the game, so make sure to grab it when you can.
