Can Bellsprout be shiny in Pokemon GO?
Bellsprout is the star of the Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour on 16 May, but can it be shiny? Find out right here in this shiny Bellsprout Pokemon GO guide.
Bellsprout, the Gen-1 Flower Pokemon, is the starring Pocket Monster of the Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour, with the Grass-type appearing more frequently on Tuesday, 16 May from 6 PM to 7 PM. But this poses the question of whether Bellsprout can be shiny in Pokemon GO, so let's get into the answer right here.
Can Bellsprout be shiny in Pokemon GO?
Fortunately, yes, Bellsprout can be shiny in Pokemon GO. So, whilst you're out exploring in the game, coming across a shiny Bellsprout is a possibility.
On the other hand, even though shiny Bellsprout is available in Pokemon GO, the Spotlight Hour doesn't increase your likelihood of encountering the different-coloured variant. That's because whilst Spotlight Hours increases your encounter rate of the featured Pokemon, the standard shiny encounter rate of 1-in-500 would remain the same.
So, if you really want a shiny Bellsprout in Pokemon GO, be sure to look out for a Bellsprout Community Day. Not only would this feature the debut of the shiny version, but the odds of a shiny encounter would be greatly increased as well.
On the other hand, every Bellsprout catch during its featured Spotlight Hour will still reward you with 2 x Candy for transferring Pokemon.
In the meantime, you can check out the comprehensive list put together by Leek Duck containing all other shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO so far.
