All cheats for The Sims 4 Horse Ranch & how to enter them
Read this guide for a full list of all Horse Ranch cheats for The Sims 4, including how to max out horse skills, level up Nectar making, Horse Riding & more.
If you're impatiently wanting to steal the Ultimate Horse Competition win in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch, there are a fair few cheats you can use to boost your Sim's equestrian friend to new heights.
Cheats are a way of life for Simmers, and this Expansion Pack gives you options for maxing out all horse skills so they're the envy of all their neighbours (get it?) from Horse Riding to Nectar Making.
The Horse Ranch Expansion added two new Sim skills (and four horse skills) to climb up the levels of. If you're impatient and wish to get your Sims riding or making Nectar with ease straight away, you can do that with a couple of codes:
Cheat | Code |
Raise Horse Riding skill | stats.set_skill_level AdultMajor_EquestrianSkill 10 |
Raise Nectar Making skill | stats.set_skill_level AdultMinor_RanchNectar 5 |
You'll notice that there's a 5 and a 10 in those listed above - that will set your Sim to the maximum level within that skill (as there are five total for Nectar Making and 10 for Horse Riding).
You can adjust this to whatever you want to set it as, especially if you're not looking to make them a master of a certain skill right off the bat.
To be able to cheat your equestrian friends' skills in The Sims 4, you'll first need to find out our horse's Sim ID.
This can be done by inputting a lengthy code into the cheat box and taking note of the long numerical code that appears - 'sims.get_sim_id_by_name (First Name) (Last Name)'
It's worth noting that, if you're like me, your horses may not have last names, in which case that can be omitted from the above code.
Then, as shown in the image above, you'll then take that number and use it to replace the [SimID] part of all of the below codes, which will boost their different skills:
Cheat |
Horse skill |
stats.set_skill_level Horse_Agility 10 [SimID] |
Agility |
stats.set_skill_level Horse_Endurance 10 [SimID] |
Endurance |
stats.set_skill_level Horse_Jumping 10 [SimID] |
Jumping |
stats.set_skill_level Horse_Temperament 10 [SimID] |
Temperament |
Once again, as with Sims, you can chop and change that '10' in the code to whichever level you want to set your horse to.
Using codes to cheat is super easy to do, but if you've never done it before, it's just a case of pressing a few buttons to get the console to show up.
As shown in the image below, this is a white box that'll pop up in the top-left of your screen (regardless of your chosen platform) to enter your cheats. To open the cheat box, follow these steps:
- If you're on PC, press CTRL + Shift + C
- Mac Simmers will want to press Command + Shift + C
- Push in all four triggers of the controller if you're on console
In that box, you'll need to input 'testingcheats on' (or 'testingcheats enabled if you so choose). Press 'Enter', and you should get a notification that cheats have been enabled - and you can now enter any of the codes on this page!
Now that you're ready to canter into the horizon of Chestnut Ridge with your cheats in tow, check out our homepage for The Sims, where you'll find more rootin' tootin' cheatin' opportunities for Toddlers, Discover University, Spellcasters, and Vampires.
