How to change work outfit in The Sims 4

One of the most popular aspects of playing The Sims 4, is the ability to roleplay a new life from early years to adulthood. Part of this is getting a job and rising through the ranks to CEO status, earning as you go to afford the highest luxury items inĀ The Sims 4.

The issue is, that some of the work outfits in The Sims 4 are less than desirable and are automatically applied by the game. If you want to customize your work outfits and change the way they look, it is possible to do so with cheats. Read here for the cheat you need to change Sim's work outfits.

The change work outfit cheat

Now, to use the career outfit cheat, you'll need to first locate your sim's ID number, this is unique to each sim. To find the ID, enter the following into the cheat box:

sims.get_sim_id_by_name (full name of your sim)

Take note of the number that is issued and use it in the work outfit cheat, which is the following:

sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas {SimID}

If done correctly, the game will take you to the create-a-sim menu where you can select the outfit you wish your sim to use when departing and arriving from work.

Simply select the outfit you wish on the everyday outfit option. Once you click confirm, the change should be noted but will not be registered as an everyday outfit.

How to enable cheats

To use the work outfit cheat, you must first enable cheats in your game. To do so, bring up the cheat box in the top left corner of your game screen. Whilst in-game press the following according to which device you're playing the game on:

  • CTRL + Shift + C if you're a PC user.
  • If on Mac, press Command + Shift + C.
  • if you're a console player, press all four triggers of the controller.

Next, type: testingcheats on

Enter this into the cheat box, if done successfully you'll get a line of text in the cheat box confirming that cheats have been enabled.
