The Sims 4 July 18 update patch notes
We've broken down the most important patch notes with this free Sims 4 base game update, so see below for all additions including new hair, ceiling tiles, and more.
Ceiling customisation
No longer will Sims players have to suffer a blank white slate in all their builds. We finally have ceiling tile customisation in the game and with this, a tonne of new tile swatches.
Floor tiles can now be placed on ceilings via build mode, which you'll be able to view up close and personal with the Free Camera mode.
There are new colour swatches for three wall tiles, 14 wood floor patterns and 12 stone/brick floor tiles, allowing Sims players to decorate their ceilings to their heart's content.
New colour swatches have also been given to the Ladder-Style Horizontal Fencing and the Simple Single-Panel Door.
CAS items
To reflect the theme of the upcoming Sims 4 Horse Ranch pack and add more inclusivity for the Indigenous People of America, Maxis has released three new hairstyles. These are named the following:
- Double Braid
- Single Braid
- Lengthened Hair
There are also additional eye and eyebrow presets in tapered, straight, and wavy shapes.
Finally, the free base game update will also include three new under-eye bag options.
New recipes
Whilst there are a few traditional Indigenous dishes coming to the Sims 4 Horse Ranch pack, Maxis has decided to include one in the base game for free.
Your Sims will now be able to cook the Three Sisters Chili, a recipe known to include corn, beans, and squash in the same dish.
