The Ranch Gathering is one of two new social events to arrive in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion, with the event showcasing a few new mechanics, including the Cowpoke Dance!
Earning a gold medal for hosting a Ranch Gathering event in the game can win you a stack of Simoleons to help with your prospering ranch - so here's how to host one successfully.
How to win gold in a Ranch Gathering event
You'll need the following key items to fulfil the various objectives in a Ranch Gathering:
- A dance floor for Cowpoke Dancing
- A stereo for guests to perform a Cowpoke Dance
- A firepit – you may get the challenge to have Sims hang out near a firepit
- Nectar – You can get the challenge to have guests drink Nectar together
- Having some already prepared ahead of the event will save you time
- Nectar Maker – you may receive the challenge to craft Nectar at a Nectar Maker
- An outside grill – There is a chance to receive the 'have guests eat grilled food' interaction
You'll need to get through several activities to win the gold medal and the larger Simoleon prize. Make sure you pause throughout queueing interactions to make the most out of your time.
How to host a Ranch Gathering in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch
Hosting a Ranch Gathering is the same as any other social event, simply follow these steps:
- Click on the Sim's mobile icon (bottom left of the screen, next to the Sim portraits)
- Select the 'Social' option (the lip icon)
- Scroll down the menu and select 'Plan a Social Event'
- Un-pause the game if paused and select 'Ranch Gathering'
- Select your Sim as the host, then select the Sims you wish to invite to the event (there can be a maximum of 15 Sims at a time, although we suggest inviting fewer as more Sims on the lot will increase the probability of lagging)
- Select a cook 'Grill Master' if you wish and select the lot you wish to host the event at
- Click confirm and you'll receive a list of objectives to fulfil
As you fulfil the objectives on the left-hand side, you'll notice the green meter go up. This meter monitors how successful your event is. Once you earn a bronze, silver, or gold medal, it will be displayed on the green bar.
What rewards can you earn?
Hosting a successful Ranch Gathering event can help if you're in a starter household looking to expand your ranch. You can gain the following rewards depending on your score for the event:
- Bronze medal - 325 Simoleons
- Silver medal - 450 Simoleons
- Gold medal - 600 Simoleons
You can also earn more Simoleons by completing Community Jobs at a Community Board. These jobs will pay more depending on how advanced your various horse skills are.
Jobs are available from 7 AM to 7 PM, simply interact with a Community Board to select one.
