With Toddlers being just as much of a handful (and delight) as they can be in real life in The Sims 4, there are a few cheats which can make their (and your other Sims') lives a lot easier, especially if you have several on a lot or are attempting a Legacy Challenge.

Whether you're experiencing hardships with Parenthood in the game, need to make Toddlers slightly less needy, or want to instantly max out their skills before they age up, we have you covered.

How to cheat Toddler needs in The Sims 4

If you're looking to raise a Toddler's needs in-game, you can do it like so:

Cheat

Code

Fill Hunger Bar

Max Hygiene

Max Attention

Max Bladder

Max Energy

Max Fun

Max All Needs

Additionally, there are some great mods (like UI Cheats Extension and MC Command Center) that can entirely remove the need to use these, but the codes themselves are always handy in a pinch.

How to max out all needs & disable need decay

Alternatively, you can instantly fill up all the need bars or disable motive decay to permanently put your Toddlers in a good mood. To do so:

  • Enable cheats in your game with 'testing cheats on'
  • Hold down Shift and left-click on your selected sim
  • Click the 'Cheat Need…' option from the pie menu
  • You will receive the options to disable motive decay or 'Make Happy' (instantly fill all needs)

If you want to advance your Toddler's skills and make them more independent, there's a handful of cheats you can use:

Cheat

Code

Potty Skill

stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_toddler_potty #

Thinking Skill

stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_toddler_thinking #

Communication Skill

stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_toddler_communication #

Imagination Skill

stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_toddler_imagination #

Movement Skill

stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_toddler_movement #

When entering them, you'll want to replace the hashtag shown in the above table with the number you want to set the Toddler's skill to.

For example, if you want your Toddler to achieve level 3 of the potty skill, the cheat would be 'stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_toddler_potty 3' (without the single quotes).

Other than maxing your Toddler's needs and skills, you can also apply specific moodlets to them to affect their mood and skill gain, or apply special traits:

Moodlet cheat

Effect

sims.add_buff PlayfulHigh

Applies the playful moodlet to your toddler

sims.add_buff EnergizedHigh

Applies the energized moodlet to your toddler

Sims.remove_all_buffs

Removes all moodlet buffs affecting your toddler

traits.equip_trait trait_top_notch_toddler Equips a Toddler with the 'Top Notch Toddler' trait
traits.equip_trait trait_happy_toddler Adds the 'Happy Toddler' trait to a Sim

While there are the above cheats for Toddlers, if you also want to change their appearance or edit their traits another way, you can enter the full version of Create a Sim by using the CAS Full Edit Mode code.

The cheat code for this is 'cas.fulleditmode on'. After entering this, hold Shift and left-click on your Toddler.

You'll then see an 'Edit in CAS' option in the pie menu, which will allow you to adjust their traits or edit their appearance just as when you created them or one of their family members.

How to add Toddler quirks

Toddler quirks are essentially extra personality traits that can impact their behaviour or response to certain household activities.

Each Toddler can have up to three at one time, which can appear randomly through gameplay. Of course, you can also cheat and assign particular quirks to them too (if you have Growing Together installed).

To get more quirks via cheats:

  • Enable cheats in your game through the 'testingcheats on' command
  • Hold shift and click on your toddler (whilst on their sim profile)
  • Select the option 'Pack Cheats...'
  • Click 'Expansion Packs'
  • Click 'Ep-13 Growing Together'
  • Select 'Toddler Quirks'
  • Choose 'Add Discoverable Quirk'
  • Select a quirk from the list
  • You can also remove Quirks through the previous menu if you have some already assigned to the Toddler
  • You can now discover these quirks by triggering the associated gameplay. For example, if you chose 'Hates Being Carried', you can pick up your Toddler to receive the quirk notification

NOTE: It's possible to have more than three quirks if you are using cheats, as long as these don’t conflict with one another.

There are a total of 18 toddler quirks you can choose from:

Quirk Effect
Aggressive Toddlers with this trait like to roughhouse, hit bite or kick sims and don’t need to be in a bad mood to do so
Destructive Toddlers with this trait will be more chaotic and are likely to make a mess or destroy furniture

Early Riser

Good Appetite These toddlers love food, to the point that they can eat food off the floor even if it's spoiled
Hastes Bedtime Toddlers with this trait will often wake after being put to bed and will ask their caregiver for things to avoid sleeping

Hates Wakeup Time More likely to wake up in a grumpy mood
Heavy Sleeper Less likely to wake up from nightmares or surrounding noise. Will usually get better rest than other toddlers
