The Skate 4 playtest was recently announced on June 30, meaning players aren't far off getting their hands on an early version of the game to try out and feedback to the developers. Fans have been waiting another sequel to Skate for a long time, as the last title released way back in 2010, and gamers who enjoy skating games have been short on titles to try out during that time.

Skate also set itself apart from competitors like the Tony Hawk franchise with its more realistic take on skating and its tight control scheme, something the few titles since then have lacked. So if you're excited at the prospect of trying out the game early, here's how to sign up for the Skate 4 alpha.

How to sign up for the alpha

Signing up for the Skate 4 playest is quite a simple process. Firstly, just head to the Skate section of the EA website where you can click the "sign up now" button, which takes you to the insider playtesting page. We've also linked it here

Below all the text that describes the function of the playtest, there is a button that reads "sign in to EA playtesting." You'll be taken to the Electronic Arts playtesting page where you can sign in to your EA account, and then select which platform you play on primarily.

Check your preferred platform and then click 'sign up' in the bottom right corner. You'll be taken to the confirmation page, and now you're all signed up for the chance to take part in the Skate 4 playtest.

If you're unsure of what the playtest will consist of, the page where you can sign up details a bit about it, stating, "As a Skate inside, you have the chance to play early versions of the game and provide feedback through our development journey."

They also have a FAQ page if you're looking for more information about the playtest, including how to provide feedback and whether you can talk about your experience.
