SMITE 2 is getting closer, but there's still some testing to go before it releases in full, so you may want to be part of the upcoming Alpha Test in May. The game is the same third-person MOBA based around gods as you'd expect, but with a revamped engine and some new features.
Learn all about the Alpha Test dates and how to join in below.
All confirmed Alpha Test dates
The first Alpha Test period for SMITE 2 is set to run from May 2 till May 5, which is in the middle of the week. It's surprising that the devs didn't go for a test weekend, which is typical for an alpha or beta, but players still have about four days to play.
This is the first of many Alpha Test periods, with events taking place every month until the SMITE 2 24/7 Beta, which is set to begin in the summer.
How to join the Alpha Test?
There are two ways to join the SMITE 2 Alpha Test:
- Register your interest on the official website here
- Purchase the Founder's Edition, Deluxe Founder's Edition, or Ultimate Founder's Edition
Registering on the website gives you a chance to be selected for the Alpha Test, whereas getting one of the Founder's Editions guarantees you access to all the Alpha Tests and the 24/7 Beta in the future.
What's in the Alpha Test?
This first Alpha Test will feature 14 playable gods and the revamped Conquest game mode.
The gods aren't set to be revealed until an official Twitch stream on May 1, but the alpha announcement trailer does give us an idea of who may be playable.
Here are the gods featured in the trailer from what I could see:
- Anhur
- Anubis
- Bacchus
- Bellona
- Chaac
- Hecate
- Neith
- Ymir
- Zeus
This isn't confirmation that these gods will appear in the alpha, but there's a good chance they will if they appear in this trailer.
Other gods like Kukulkan, Odin, Loki, and Cernunnos have appeared in the reveal trailer, while even more have been spotted in developer footage from a keynote, so there's a good amount that could potentially appear too.
