How to find all the Backpacks in Spider-Man Remastered
Spider-Man Remastered gives players the entirety of Manhattan to explore, with plenty of places to hide away collectables. Here is what you need to know to find all of Spidey's backpacks.
Spider-Man backpacks are collectable items for us to track down. Spider-Man has many boxes for players to tick while chasing that 100% completion and this is one of the more interesting steps along the way. Spider-Man has left many of his backpacks around the city over the years, and each contains a memento of his past. Here is everything you need to know to find all of the Spider-Man backpacks.
How to find all the Backpacks in Spider-Man Remastered
To begin your collection of Spider-Man's many backpacks, you will need to play through the game as normal. During the early stages of the game, you will be tasked with picking up the first of the backpacks. Spider-Man will remark on how he forgot about his old backpacks, and how he left trackers on each of them. After this, the rest of the backpacks will appear throughout the city.
As with basically all collectables and activities in the game, there is a quick and easy way to track them all down. First, you should go around and repair all of the surveillance towers. These towers are dotted around the city, and each one reveals all activities in their section of the city. Before collecting backpacks or any other collectables, it is a good idea to do a quick run around the city and repair all the towers. Once done, you will be able to see every backpack location on your map and mark them on your HUD.
In the map screen, move the cursor over any of the backpack icons to highlight it, then select it for tracking. You can follow the marker on your HUD to find it, but sometimes even getting to the location isn't enough. These backpacks can be in some unusual places, but once you reach the location, press R3 to scan the area and you should find the backpack highlighted in yellow.
Backpack rewards in Spider-Man Remastered
Thankfully, there are more reasons to collect these backpacks than for the sake of completionism. Each backpack contains a memento, an item from a particular time in Spider-Man's life. Some of these fill out the backstory; for example, the first backpack contains a menu from a restaurant where Peter and Mary Jane went on a date. Others contain easter eggs and references to Spider-Man's history in the comics and other media. There are plenty of fun winks and nods among these backpack rewards, especially for long-time fans of the Web-Head.
Collecting all 55 Spider-Man backpacks further rewards you with the most important kind of prize in the game, a new suit. There is nothing more important in a superhero game than unlocking new costumes, and this is a fun one. The reward for collecting all backpacks is the Homemade Suit, an early iteration of Spider-Man's costume, very similar to the one worn by Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
That is it for Spider-Man backpacks, how to find them and why you want them.
