Is Darth Vader in Star Wars Outlaws?
Darth Vader is an iconic villain in Star Wars, but does he appear in Star Wars Outlaws?
Darth Vader is one of the most iconic villains in all of media history, and a character who has appeared in a number of Star Wars games with main roles, secondary roles, and cameos. With Star Wars Outlaws being the latest game project to take us to the galaxy far, far away, does the Dark Lord of the Sith make an appearance this time around?
Is Darth Vader in Star Wars Outlaws?
Darth Vader does appear in Star Wars Outlaws for a short time in a cameo role that also reveals more about the game's primary antagonist, Sliro.
At a late point in the game, it's revealed that Sliro is a director of the Imperial Security Bureau, and is using the Zerek Besh syndicate as a front to gain intelligence on the criminal underworld and Rebel Alliance.
After we learn this, Darth Vader enters Sliro's office in a cutscene to discuss the progress of their plan. Vader is unhappy with it, claiming it to be a failure as they haven't made any arrests for key members of the Rebel Alliance. Sliro fires back, referring to the far-reaching network they've set up, and Vader smashes some nearby glass with the force, threatening Sliro and telling him to do better.
Vader also makes a second appearance as a Holocron later on. After staging the job on Sliro's mansion and bringing stolen data back to Jaylen, it's revealed to be a codex with blackmail on members of the Empire.
Jaylen speaks to Vader with a holocron to make a deal with the Empire, using the codex as leverage to take over the Zerek Besh syndicate and ask for Sliro (who is secretly his brother, who he also hates) to him. Vader agrees, and that is the last we see of him during the game.
There are no direct confrontations with Vader and you don't get any chance to fight him, though it's possible he could appear in one of the planned DLCs in the future.
