You can get early access to Star Wars Outlaws, for a price
Here's everything you need to know to play Star Wars Outlaws early and enjoy the latest game from Ubisoft set in the galaxy far, far away.
Star Wars Outlaws will be available to play early, but accessing the game this way will come at a cost to fans of the galaxy far, far away.
There was a time when offering early access to games meant developers could do a bit of testing, and make sure everything was working perfectly before the full release later down the line - recent examples include the upcoming No Rest for the Wicked and Baldur’s Gate 3 that launched last year.
Now though, plenty of different games include the feature purely so you can play the full game a few days before everyone else. This is becoming as common with sports titles and multiplayer games as it is with single-player ones like Star Wars Outlaws.
How to get Star Wars Outlaws in early access
You can get Star Wars Outlaws in early access in a few different ways. I've listed each of them below:
- Buy the Gold Edition
- Buy the Ultimate Edition
- Subscribe to Ubisoft+ Premium
If you pay for one of the above you’ll be able to access the game three days early, meaning you can play the game from August 27, 2024. There's no other way to play the game early - but it's only a few days of early access, so you won't have to wait long to jump in if you don't wan tto commit to any of those options.
If you’re all in on the game and want the extras then the early access is a nice bonus, but as a reward in itself, it doesn't always seem worth paying for. Also, it means the game will release on a Tuesday, which isn’t the optimal time to jump into a game for many people.
I'm not a big fan of paying for early access, as it's essentially rewarding people who can afford to buy the game at a premium, but the option is there if you fancy it!
That’s all there is to know about early access, for more information check out our Star Wars Outlaws homepage where we’ve outlined all you need to know about the release date.
