Learning how to reset vendor credits and inventories in Starfield is important if you need to sell on a bunch of loot and resources you're holding onto, as vendors only have a limited amount of credits to part with at a given time.
Bethesda's newest RPG follows on from the classics in lots of ways, featuring many of the same idiosyncrasies and systems, ranging from picking up and moving items to running down the time with the wait mechanic.
The game takes these systems to the stars for a space opera set in an alternate future, and vendors are another mainstay here, so knowing how to reset vendor credits can help you sell all your stockpiled loot.
How do you reset vendor credits?
To reset vendors' credits and inventories in Starfield, you will just need to wait 24 hours from when you last sold them an item. Every in-game day, a vendor's credits will refresh completely, giving you another chance to sell more loot and other items to them.
To wait for a vendor to reset their credits, you can either leave the planet and go about your business for an hour, or use the wait mechanic. For the latter, find a chair or bed around the vendor, and interact with it. You'll then be able to wait for a specified time up to 24 hours.
After waiting 24 hours, a vendor's credits will have reset, and you'll be able to continue selling your goods. In Starfield, vendor credits always reset to the same point and don't include any money you've given them from purchasing items.
To reset a vendor's inventory in Starfield and purchase new items from them, you'll have to wait 48 hours instead. You can do the exact same methods as above for this, just double instead.
When a vendor resets their stock, they don't fully overhaul every item, but there are some variations in the items they have and the amount of items they have.
