The Steelrising Titan bosses will provide many players trouble over their playthroughs, as they are some of the toughest fights in the game due to their unique movesets. So if you need a bit of help with beating the Steelrising Bishop of the Cité boss, we've got you covered.

How To Beat Steelrising Bishop Of The Cité Boss

How To Beat Steelrising Bishop Of The Cité Boss

The Bishop of the Cité boss is found near the end of your first time in the La Cité level, and is found near the cathedral, protecting Monseigneur de La Fare's body from being awoken. The Bishop has a lot of slower attacks, but they hit very hard, plus they have a second phase where they utilise fire damage which can quickly lead to your death. Here's a rundown of its attacks, and some tactics to deal with it.

Attacks  Effect Counter
Bible Throw The Bishop pulls their arm with the bible back, before throwing it at you and pulling it back with its chain. If this hits, it will pull you in too. Dodge to the left or right once the bible has been thrown.
Staff Slam It will pull its staff up above its head, and slam it down in front, before swiping from its left to the right. Can also do this twice in a row. Dodge to the left or right for the first hit, and then jump over the swipe.
Staff Smash Will raise both arms into the air, and then bring the point of the staff down in front of it. Repeats it again in the first phase, and twice in the second phase.  Dodge to the left or right for the first attack, and then repeat if it retargets you, otherwise just attack.
Spinning Blades When the Bishop starts smoking, blades will appear from the side of the spinning ball it moves on.  Just stay away from it while on the ground.
Spinning Blade Dash The blades will appear, and it will bring its staff up to its shoulder before swiping back three times back and forth.  Jump and dash away once the blades come out of the ball.
Fire Charge (Phase 2) In the second phase, it sets part of itself on fire. During this, it will bring its staff backwards and then point it forward before rushing forward and leaving a trail of fire on the ground. This move can be repeated infinitely.  You will need to dodge to the side to avoid the charge, but then carefully air dodge away to escape the flames on the ground. Use ranged weapons or consumables to stop this move.

How To Beat Steelrising Bishop Of The Cité Boss 2

The Steelrising Bishop of the Cité is another Titan boss that is weak to Frost damage in particular. Electricity damage also works. Save up some Frost grenades or equip a weapon like the Charleville 1789 Shield Musket for this fight so you can freeze the Bishop.

Frost damage is especially useful for stopping it from performing the Fire Charge move, and can help you see out the fight without it attacking you back. You should also have the dash move by this point, so you can often dash into it while avoiding its moves to deal Frost damage.

The Staff Smash move is another good point to get some damage in. During the second or third hit (depending on the phase of the boss) it will temporarily fall forward and become inactive, allowing you to get a few hits in. This is one of the easier attacks to dodge, so make sure you are always ready for this opportunity.

That's all for our breakdown of how to beat the Steelrising Bishop of the Cité boss, and now you know how to slay this Titan and free La Fare.

We also have a Steelrising best weapons breakdown, which covers the best weapons to upgrade throughout the game.
