How To Beat Steelrising Selenite Of The Louvre Boss
You will face the Selenite of the Louvre at the end of the Tuileries level, once you make your way through the Louvre. They are a fast-paced automat with a massive shield and a scythe, and will be the first big test of your reactions and dodging abilities. We'll run through the different attacks of the Selenite, along with some different strategies for dealing with it.
There are three phases to this fight. During the first phase, the Selenite does its attacks like normal. In the second phase, they set their shield on fire, and in the third phase, they electrify their scythe, with both phases after the first introducing new attacks.
Attack | Effect | Counter |
Shield Bash | Brings their scythe low and lunged forward to bash with their shield | Dodge to the left or right |
Sparks | Will lower to one knee, raise its shield, and shoot electricity out at short range | Dodge back, to the left, or right |
Scythe Lunge | Brings the scythe up to their shoulder, and then swipes, before lunging forward afterwards | Dodge back or jump over the swipe, then dodge either side for the lunge |
Scythe Dash | Crouches down and brings their scythe to their shoulder, before dashing forward and swiping. | Jump over the scythe swing, or dodge backwards. |
Scythe Swing | If you are behind the Selenite, they will swing their scythe around to hit you and face you again. | Just as they wind up to begin the attack, dodge backward or jump over it. |
Tornado (Phase 2) | Brings the scythe up to their shoulder quickly, and lunges through the air while spinning | Dodge forward into the attack |
Electric Cannon (Phase 3) | After the Selenite electrifies its scythe, a cannon will appear out of its shoulder while the health bar flashes, causing them to shoot out tonnes of electric orbs. | Continually dodge to the side until they put the cannon away. |
Once you learned how to dodge all of the attacks, you will need to look for the best ways to deal damage and defeat the boss. Due to their fire and electric abilities, it's best to make use of Frost grenades or Frost weaponry, like the Charleville 1789 Shield Musket, to freeze them and get in some free hits.
One of the best times to attack the Selenite is when they perform their tornado attack. They will stick their shield into the ground at the end of the move, causing them to be stuck for a couple of seconds, allowing you to get in some free damage. This goes the same for the shield bash move.
That's all for our primer on how to defeat the Steelrising Selenite of the Louvre boss, and now you know their different attacks, along with how to counter them and deal damage.
