How to play Dhalsim in Street Fighter 6
Looking to learn about Dhalsim in Street Fighter 6? We've got you covered in our breakdown of his backstory, combos, and how you can get a handle on him.
With Street Fighter 6 finally in the hands of excited players around the world, it is important to know whom you are going to be playing as and against if you’re going to get ahead.
Having first appeared in Street Fighter 2, Dhalsim is renowned for being one of the most unusual characters in the Street Fighter series, making it difficult to play without the appropriate research first. We’re going to be going through everything you need to know to get started playing as Dhalsim in the game, including his backstory, combos, and the best ways for you to get a handle on him.
How do you play Dhalsim?
In Street Fighter 6, Dhalsim is an incredibly tricky character and can be difficult to predict. With his stretchy limbs and hard-hitting projectiles, he can fight at range, break guards, and close a gap easily.
Using Dhalsim’s standard moves will keep opponents in their place and can easily intercept them should they try any aerial attacks.
His Yoga Arch, an arching projectile, can keep opponents at bay and works as an excellent spacing tool. Hitting opponents with standard attacks with this projectile looming overhead limits their options. They’ll have to think on their feet if they’re going to outwit him.
Who is Dhalsim?
In Street Fighter 6, Dhalsim is a master of Yoga and has achieved complete and extraordinary mastery of his own body.
Being able to stretch his limbs to extreme lengths and breathe fire, Dhalsim is exceptionally difficult to predict, making him a particularly intimidating character to face.
While portrayed as something of a stoic and difficult to read, Dhalsim has been sought out by several characters throughout the games for training, including Ryu and Cammy in Street Fighter 5.
After competing in a fighting tournament in Street Fighter 2, Dhalsim retired, only to return in Street Fighter 4, and has been a mainstay ever since with connections to many from Guile to the villainous M. Bison.
