Best Captain Boomerang build in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Here's everything you need to know to put together the best Captain Boomerang build in Rocksteady's new game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Captain Boomerang is one of the four characters you can use in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and we're here to outline how you can make the best Captain Boomerang build possible.
Boomerang, thanks to the Speed Force Gauntlet, is one of the quickest members of the Suicide Squad, meaning he can get behind enemies in a… flash.
There’s no doubt, with this character, the game is at its most chaotic and frenetic but it also offers a satisfying experience when you successfully pull it off. Keep reading for the best Boomerang build in Suicide Squad.
Captain Boomerang's best weapons
Boomerang can use sniper rifles, SMGs, and shotguns - but to get the most out of the character you'll want to equip a shotgun and a sniper rifle.
This way you can do great damage from afar and medium range with the sniper, and then switch to the shotgun once you race in up close to really do some damage. SMGs are also effective but you will be much more dangerous with a shotgun.
- Best snipers: Black Mask Notorious Sniper, Bizarro Undeath Ray Notorious Sniper, I’ll Make it Quick Infamy Sniper
- Best shotguns: Bizarro Undeath Ray Notorious Shotgun, No Holds Barred Infamy Shotgun, Pinpoint Street Sweeper Shotgun, Oh Snap
Some of the above weapons are not easy to find, so until you get them, my advice would be to use any sniper that has a quick fire rate to ensure it can be used effectively at medium range. Then, use whatever shotgun you have that does the most damage. They'll get you far until you can find one from the list above.
Captain Boomerang's best melee weapon
I used Boomerang for the majority of my playthrough and I found Matilda to be the best Melee weapon, although the Sugar Glider and Two-Face Persuader were also very good.
The key with your melee weapon is to make sure you apply the right affliction. If you're using Captain Boomerang, Deep Freeze is by far the best and fortunately, it's the second one you get.
Using the Deep Freeze affliction on your melee weapon will freeze huge sections of enemies, so they’re ready to be finished quickly and easily with your shotgun. By the time fresh enemies come in, you can split thanks to Boomerang's speed abilities.
Captain Boomerang's best Mods
As you progress through the game you'll unlock more Mod slots and by the end, you'll have three Mod slots as well as a slot for a Lucky Charm. Using Boomerang, I found the best Mods are as follows:
- Shield Mod: The Turtles Shell
- Boomerang Mod: Hat Trick
- Neck Bomb Mod: Titan Tolerance
- Lucky Charm: Little Osito
The combination above continues to rely on the speed Boomerang has, cutting in and out of scraps doing traversal damage and in turn making you immune to damage for short spells.
You will also get grenades and ammo back much faster with this combination as well as reducing how long it takes for your Squad Ultimate to recharge.
Captain Boomerang Talents
Every character in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has three skill trees and when you unlock the next part of the skill tree you choose which skill you want. In some instances, you won’t be able to choose which skill you want, but in others, you will have a choice of three.
The three skill trees are:
- Shoot ‘Em Up - Focuses on the weapons Boomerang uses, allowing for bonuses and boosting combos
- Boomin Boomerangs - The second skill tree has a focus on melee attacks and how damage-resistant you are
- Speedstrania - The third skill tree focuses on traversal attacks and how effective your Speed Force is in battle
For this build, I would prioritising Hit-N-Runner skills, but there are also Charger and Ranger skills to consider. The Hit-N-Runner skills will make the most of running in, getting off as much damage as possible, and then retreating to grab some space.
