The Joker has arrived in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League & here's how to unlock him
Here is everything you need to know about unlocking the Joker in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as part of the release of Season 1 in the game.
The first character has launched as part of the post-launch Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League roadmap, and it’s an Elseworld version of the Joker. The Joker was first announced to be coming to the came long before launch, and now that the Clown Prince of Crime is in the game you’re going to need to know how to unlock him.
If you played the Arkham games, you’ll know this is not the same Joker, yet it’s still hard not to get excited for a fresh character to hit the streets of Metropolis with. The popular Batman villain's arrival also coincides with the release of Season 1, and to unlock him you’ll need to do some grinding in the new season.
How to unlock the Joker in Suicide Squad
The easiest way to unlock the Joker is to buy the character using 1,000 Luthor credits on the store, but this costs real money and understandably won’t be for everyone - especially when you can unlock the character free with a bit of grinding.
When firing up Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for the first time after the new Season 1 update, make sure you select Episode 1: Fear and you’ll be dropped into Metropolis, but it’s now being merged with the Joker’s world that’s beginning to bleed through. From here, you will need to start grinding until reaching level 35.
Upon reaching the aforementioned level, you will then be tasked with the Rescue The Joker mission and it very much does what it says on the tin. After this, you will be able to use him in the game whenever you like and when he’s not in the party, you’ll find him at the Hall of Justice.
How to reach Episode Rank 35
Unlocking the Joker, if I’m being honest, is a proper grind and there’s sadly no real way to ensure this process can be sped up - outside of dropping money on the game. Saying that, below is the most efficient way of unlocking the character:
- Complete all missions with a +2 on the map - each one is valued at two levels
- Now tackle any incursion events on the map, which are quick and offer healthy XP
- The higher the difficulty the more XP earned
Sadly, that’s kind of it. You just need to keep ticking off different objectives across the map, but these two mission types offer the biggest boosts.
That’s all you need to know about unlocking the Joker. If you’re looking for more guides check out our Suicide Squad homepage where we have already covered the best build for Deadshot, the endgame modes explained, how long the story is and more.
