Using the best Medallions will truly unlock your power in The Rogue Prince of Persia, giving you a number of special abilities to help you power through even the toughest areas.

While you're unable to choose what options appear in-game, understanding which ones to prioritise or build towards can definitely make a difference in the long run.

What are the best Medallions?

Medallion Effects
Flaming Counter For every hit taken:
  • Restore 20 energy points
  • Receive 30 gold coins
  • Set fire to the area
Sleight of Poison For every hit landed on an enemy from behind:
  • Inflict 20 bonus damage
  • Restore 30 energy points
  • Release a cloud of poison
Vampiric Demise When an enemy is killed:
  • Restore 30 energy points
  • Restore 10 health points
  • Restore 5 additional health points
Bloody Spoils When an enemy is killed:
  • Receive 5 gold coins
  • Receive 5 additional gold coins
  • Receive 5 additional gold coins
Health Insurance For every gold coin spent:
  • Restore 0.5 health points
  • Restore 0.25 additional health points
  • Restore 0.25 additional health points
Restorative Dream Fragment When finding a new Well of Dreams:
  • Restore 60 health points
  • Restore 10 additional health points
  • Restore 10 additional health points
Shield Breaker Inflict 50% more damage against enemies with shields. Every time you break a shield:
  • Restore 25 energy points
  • Restore 25 additional energy points
Flaming Dive When hitting the ground with a dive attack:
  • Set fire to the area
Immortal At the moment of death:
  • The Medallion is destroyed to restore +50% health points
Pyromaniac Killing a burning enemy spreads fire to nearby enemies
Flaming Kick When kicking an enemy:
  • Restore 20 energy points
  • Inflict 12 bonus damage
  • Set fire to the area
Slicing Kick When kicking an enemy:
  • Hurl daggers at nearby enemies (40 damage per dagger)

As you can see, many of my picks for the best Medallions revolve around health boosts, as staying alive is the single most important part of each run.

Fire I've found to be the strongest status effect too, especially when paired with something like Pyromaniac which spreads the damage effectively.

Many of the best Medallions become even stronger when joined efficiently with similar options too. For example, combining Bloody Spoils with Health Insurance not only increases the amount of items that you can buy but also ensures that your health is topped up when doing so.

You'll need to make sure that your boosts are spread efficiently when placing your Medallions though, as many of the options only truly unlock their powers when reaching the second or third level of boost.
