Starting & completing the Eternal Fire's Shadow quest in The Witcher 3
If you're wondering how to start The Witcher 3 new quest and earn the Forgotten School of the Wolf gear, check out how to complete the Eternal Fire's Shadow.
The Witcher 3 is a legendary RPG, and it's just received a huge update that finally sees it launch on the next-gen consoles, and adds lots of features to the previous editions of the game.
If you're looking for an explainer of how to find and start the new quest called In The Eternal Fire's Shadow so you can get the Forgotten School of the Wolf gear, we've got you covered.
How to start in the Eternal Fire's Shadow quest
The new quest is located at the Devil's Pit fast travel post in Velen, which can be found just east of Mulbrydale, and south-west of Oxenfurt, so if you're starting a new game wait until you come across it, but if you're loading into an old save, you can just fast travel there.
The quest is recommended for players at level 15, so it can be tackled quite early, but for players much higher, all the enemies won't scale up with you.
Completing the new quest
After travelling to the Devil's Pit, you will see a quest marker nearby, where you can find a priest standing next to a carriage on the side of the road. Speak to him to begin the quest, and then head into the Devil's Pit.
Follow along, defeating any enemies you come against and eventually, you'll learn a fellow Witcher has been trapped down there.
Help free him and complete the quest, which will see him reward you with diagrams for the Forgotten School of the Wolf armour.
These plans aren't enough though, and you will need advanced versions of the plans to begin making your new weapons and armor. Activate the Scavenger Hunt: Forgotten Wolf School Gear Diagrams quest in your quest journal, and then follow the market to Kaer Morhen.
Once at Kaer Morhen, make your way into the castle and follow the marker toward the library. You should find a bookshelf that can be looted, giving you two notes from Osmund and Vesemir.
Read the notes in the Quest Items section of your inventory, and it will give you the crafting diagrams you will need for the Forgotten School of the Wolf armour and swords.
Like the other sets, this comes in Basic, Mastercrafted, and Grandmaster, which correspond to level 20, level 34, and level 40 respectively. Now you will be able to craft and equip the gear of Geralt in The Witcher TV show.
If you need to enable The Witcher 3 FPS counter, we've got you covered so you can track your framerate.
