You may want to know about The Witcher 3 romance options, as the game has various characters that Geralt can seduce to establish romantic relationships with. Romancing characters is a staple of many RPG games, including The Witcher 3, and while many players just go through them for the detailed cutscenes, it also helps to establish more personal stakes in the story. So, check out our list of all The Witcher 3 romance options, along with what choices you need to make for each character.
- We also cover The Witcher 3 new quest, which is a mission added in the next-gen update that allows you to get a new set of armour.
The Witcher 3 Romance Options
There are seven characters that can be romanced in The Witcher 3, along with brothels you can visit for some one-off action. We'll detail the process for romancing each one below.
Yennefer
Yennefer is Geralt's old lover who you've spent the past two games trying to find after an incident saw the both of you separate with no memory of each other. Here's how to get the raven-haired sorceress to fall in love with you:
- Start the quest called The Kind is Dead - Long Live the King in Skellige.
- Grab and equip the black and white Skellige attire from Yennefer's room before you head off to meet her.
- Go through the quest until you get to the part where you can kill the Earth Elemental and the room fills with gas. Yen will speak to you, and you will need to select the following dialogue option: "Damn, I wanna kiss you, Yen."
- Yen will teleport you both away and then go to repair her dress. Select the following dialogue option: "Wouldn't mind watching…", and then enjoy the scene.
- Later on, at the end of the quest called The Last Wish in Skellige, you need to tell Yennefer that you love her.
- Even further on during the quest No Place Like Home in Kaer Morhen, if you have followed the previous steps, you can follow Yen to her room after dinner in the main hall.
- If you keep Yennefer as your main romance option and ignore Triss, the game will end with your and Yen retiring together.
Triss
Triss is another old romantic option for Geralt, who is heavily featured in the first two games, and has some iconic scenes in The Witcher 2. Here's how you can get with Triss:
- Start the quest called A Matter of Life and Death in Novigrad.
- At the masquerade event, after Triss gets drunk you will have a dialogue option to kiss her. Go ahead with it.
- After this quest, process through the quest called Now or Never in Novigrad.
- At the point when Triss is going to leave Novigrad with the other mages, choose the dialogue options "Stay with me", and then "I love you."
- If you keep Triss as your main romance option and ignore Triss, the game will end with you and Triss settling down together.
Yennefer and Triss
The Yennefer and Triss romance is one of the game's more special scenes, and makes for a good commentary on the vapid, almost collectible nature of sex scenes in some games by punishing you for trying to lead two women on at once. Here's how to get this funny scene:
- Follow the steps for romancing Yennefer and Triss highlighted above.
- This prompts a quest called It Takes Three to Tango in Novigrad, where the three of you share a room in the Kingfisher Inn.
- After this scene, you won't be able to romance Yennefer or Triss ever again, so be careful about letting it happen.
Keira Metz
Keira Metz is one of the secondary romance options, and a character first introduced in The Witcher 3, despite some references in past games. Here's how you can enjoy a night with a witch:
- Proceed through the Keira Metz quest line, which includes Hunting a Witch, Wandering in the Dark, An Invitation from Keira Metz, and a Towerful of Mice, ending with the final quest, a Favour for a Friend in Velen.
- During your dinner by candlelight, pick the dialogue option "Don't have to ask me twice."
- Locate Keira during the part where she disappears and enjoy the cutscene.
Sasha
For the next romance option, you can get with a high-profile Gwent player. Here's how to romance Sasha:
- Firstly, you will need to head to the Novigrad notice board next to the bridge, and start the quest called High Stakes.
- Proceed through the quest and either beat Sasha at Gwent, or agree to help her afterwards if you lose, which let you enjoy a one-off romance.
Jutta an Dimun
Jutta is another character that's simple to romance, just requiring you to finish a quest. Here's the process:
- Start the quest called Iron Maiden in Skellige.
- You will need to defeat Jutta, the titular Iron Maiden, and upon winning she will invite you into her home.
Shani
Shani is a character who can only be romanced if you have the Hearts of Stone expansion. Here'd how you do it:
- Begin the quest in Novigrad called A Midnight Clear.
- You will need to pick a gift for Shani at one point, so select either the rowan branch or the chamomile, then bring it to her.
- After reaching the tree, select the option to kiss Shani.
- Later, she will ask if you should go back, so select the dialogue option, "Kiss sure didn't sate me."
- You will now see the romance cutscene on a boat.
Sylvia/Syanna
Sylvia, or Syanna, can be only be romanced if you have the Blood and Wine expansion. Here's our breakdown for romancing her:
- Proceed through the quest called Beyond Hill and Dale, and defeat the Cloud Giant at the end.
- When speaking with Syvlia/Syanna, respond with the dialogue option, "Useful? How?"
- Then select, "[Let her have her way with you]" and have fun.
The Brothels
There are also a number of brothels in the game if you want to just pay for your pleasure.
- Crippled Kate's is located in Novigrad.
- The Passiflora is also in Novigrad.
- The Belles of Beauclair is located in Toussaint, so you will need Blood and Wine.
That's all for our explainer of The Witcher 3 romance options, and now you know every character in the game that can be romanced, along with the process for doing so.
