You will need to know how to level up in Thymesia, as even though it may seem obvious to players familiar with the formula of a souls-like action RPG, players new to the genre and trying out Thymesia on a whim may be a little confused by the system. Thymesia takes a lot of inspiration from Bloodborne with its aggressive and in-your-face combat, gothic art style, and general sense of wonder and mystery.

  • You may also wonder about Thymesia multiplayer and if you can summon friends like in other souls-like titles.

How To Level Up In Thymesia

Thymesia: How To Level Up

The system for levelling up in Thymesia is essentially the same as in games like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring. As you defeat enemies throughout the game, you will earn Memory Shards - a form of XP - which can be spent to level up attributes at beacons or special chairs that look like they are wound from branches. Every time you level up, it will increase the cost of your next level, and for the first 24 times that you level up, you will also gain a Talent Point which can be used in the Talent Tree to gain abilities.

The trademark souls-like difficulty also remains, because if you die you will drop all of the Memory Shards you are currently holding, and will need to travel to the point of your death and pick them back up. However, if you die before reaching them, all of the Memory Shards will be lost forever.

The three attributes that can be levelled up are Strength, Vitality, and Plague, and each one will affect your different stats. Strength will improve your Attack Damage and Amount of Wounds, Vitality will increase your Health, and Plague governs your Claw Damage and Energy.

Thymesia also gives you the opportunity to respec at any level-up point, so don't feel the need to be too careful about levelling your stats and Talents.

That's all for our breakdown of how to level up in Thymesia, and now you have an idea of how the levelling system works, along with which attributes affect specific stats.
