V Rising Merciless Hollowfang armour is an important step forward for players progressing through the game. V Rising is an action RPG so players will need to update their gear constantly to continue. The game is divided up into regions, and moving to the next one will require a significant upgrade. Here is everything you need to know about V Rising Merciless Hollowfang armour.

V Rising Merciless Hollowfang: How To Get Hollowfang Armour

V Rising Hollowfang: The base armour

Merciless Hollowfang armour works much the same way as the V Rising Merciless Nightstalker armour. Nightstalker armour is the set that will carry you through most of Farbane Woods, Hollowfang will do a similar job for Dunley Farmlands. Before you can get the Merciless version, you will need to acquire the basic Hollowfang armour.

This is done once you are reaching the end of your time in Farbane Woods. Arguably the final boss of the region is V Rising Quincey the Bandit King. He is a level 37 boss who resides in the Bandit Stronghold in the north of the region. Once you are strong enough, seek out and defeat Quincey to unlock the Hollowfang Battlegear recipes. This will allow you to craft the base armour, which will more than prepare you to make the move to the Dunley Farmlands.

V Rising Merciless Hollowfang: How To Upgrade Hollowfang Armour

V Rising Hollowfang: upgrading to Merciless Hollowfang

Much the same as with the Nightstalker armour, upgrading to the Merciless Hollowfang set requires you to gather the recipes for each piece. There is no definitive source, nor can you loot the armour from enemies. The recipes are gathered from random drops in the Dunley Farmlands. These can come from defeating enemies, opening chests, or breaking objects.

The recipes can be gathered passively as you adventure through the region, but if you would like to focus in on unlocking the armour there doesn’t seem to be a clear method that works well. In Farbane Woods, we had Grayson the Armourer who had a higher drop rate for Merciless Nightstalker armour. There is no armourer in Dunley Farmlands that we know of, so regular play seems to be the best plan.

To maximise your chances, the Haunted Iron Mine is a good place to go. There is a multitude of enemies here, but also several chests spawn here. The higher amount of chests makes this a good spot to find some V Rising golden chests, and also a great spot to seek out loot like Merciless Hollowfang recipes.

It is also possible to research Merciless Hollowfang gear at the Research Desk or the Study, but there is an element of randomness to that method as well. Use a bit of both and hopefully the Merciless Hollowfang recipes will be yours before too long.

  • Crafting requires resources, and there are few you need to stock up on more than V Rising Whetstones.

V Rising Merciless Hollowfang Armour: How To Craft

V Rising Hollowfang: Crafting armour

This is much the same process as it was with the Nightstalker armour. Once you have the recipes, go to your Workbench. From here, you will be able to craft the Merciless versions of the armour. It will require the base Hollowfang items, as well as some basic resources. Once done, you will get your upgraded armour back with a few extra levels added to your character.

That is everything you need to do to start making your own V Rising Merciless Hollowfang armour. For more useful tips, check out our V Rising cloaks guide to get yourself some protection from the sun.
