How to repair tools, equipment, & buildings in Valheim
Everything degrades over time and use, so you should learn everything about repairing in Valheim and get your items back in working order.
Are you finding your tools and equipment running low on durability in Valheim? Well, with the right items and knowledge, you can repair your worn-down inventory relatively painlessly. So, here's what you need to know to repair tools, equipment, and buildings in the game.
How to repair tools and equipment
Your tools, weapons, and armour are all susceptible to breaking. If you use your tools and equipment enough, the durability will eventually fall to zero, and they will no longer function properly. However, when that happens, you don't have to craft new tools and equipment. Instead, you can repair your items!
Before you can repair tools and equipment, you need a workbench. Crafting a workbench requires a hammer and ten pieces of wood. Place the workbench in a suitable area, and you can begin repairing your tools and equipment.
Approach a workbench with your damaged tools and equipment in your inventory and interact with it. Sticking out to the left of the workbench crafting menu is a tiny hammer icon. Now, simply press the hammer icon as many times as needed until your full inventory of gear is back to full strength.
Repairing is entirely free, so don't hesitate to fix your tools and equipment after extended periods of use!
How to repair buildings and structures
Repairing buildings and structures is a bit different from repairing tools and equipment.
If you open up the build menu with the hammer in hand and navigate to the crafting submenu, there is an option to repair. Next, hold out your hammer and hover over any crafted structure to view its health. Finally, smack the damaged structure with your hammer to fully replenish its health!
You can repair carts and boats using this method too. Just remember that you need to be in the vicinity of a workbench to repair in Valheim.
It's not very clear and obvious how to repair tools, equipment, and buildings, but once you figure out how it's pretty straightforward. Keep your items in tip-top shape, and you'll be ready for anything the game throws at you!
With your weapons and armour fixed, solve the Valheim HUNT HIS KIN riddle and summon and defeat the first boss, Eikthyr.
