VALORANT has come far and claimed a sizeable market share since its 2020 release, but it's soon set to make its debut on Mobile, so Riot Games can push its reach even further.
VALORANT is a tactical first-person shooter that combines the game structure of Counter-Strike with hero shooter design, making for a unique combo that's still being explored. What do we know about VALORANT Mobile?
VALORANT Mobile was revealed during a celebration of the first game, with it being announced directly on the first anniversary.
Since then, details have been few and far between, meaning we don't know what Agents, maps, and modes will be available when it releases.Â
Like most mobile versions of popular games, it's expected to be behind the main version with regard to updates and content. It's possible we may even get mobile-exclusive Agents like in Apex Legends, though we can't confirm this as of now.
Is there a VALORANT Mobile release date?
There's still no exact release date for VALORANT mobile, but the VALORANT Updates Twitter account leaked that the international open beta is set to begin sometime in January 2024.
This is the first news we've had for the game in a long time, so it seems like it's finally shaping up for release.
Will VALORANT come to console?
Currently, nothing is confirmed with regard to VALORANT coming to console, but Riot Games hasn't written the possibility off yet.
As the message from Riot Games regarding VALORANT Mobile states, "Riot now is preparing to expand the franchise - starting with VALORANT Mobile" meaning we could see further information regarding a console release very soon.Â
Game Director Joe Ziegler has discussed the possibility of a VALORANT console port before, saying "We have teams that are working on it right now that are very much focused on the idea of, if we take these concepts and bring them to other platforms, do they even work? Is the game even enjoyable on those platforms?".
