If you're finding other players' voices more frustrating than anything, you might be wondering - can you turn off proximity chat in Warzone 2? While the exciting feature does have its merits and can provide some laughs, it can get frustrating in a game like Warzone 2 where things are quite tense. So, read the rest of this guide to find out the answer to the question 'can you turn off proximity chat in Warzone 2?'

Can You Turn Off Proximity Chat in Warzone 2?

You can thankfully turn off proximity chat in Warzone 2, with a number of different options available if you want to tweak your experience further.

If you want to just turn it off, no questions asked, then all you need to do is head to the Audio section of the settings, and then scroll down to the voice chat section. Within this section, you should see an option labeled 'Proximity Chat'. All you need to do is change it to off and you're good to go.

There are a couple of different options that you can play around with though if you want an experience somewhere between the binary of on or off. Selecting the 'Game Voice Channel' drop-down option will allow you to choose who you can interact with via voice chat, with options of just your party, friends, or friends and channels available alongside the entire lobby.

If you did want to turn proximity chat back on though, you do need to make sure that your game voice channel is set to 'All Lobby', as without it you won't be able to hear anyone, nor will they be able to hear you.

What is Last Words Voice Chat in Warzone 2?

Last Words voice chat in Warzone 2 is a feature where the person who killed you hears what you're saying for a few moments after your death. It can lead to some quite hilarious moments if you're prone to a bit of raging, or you can send some respect over to your opponent after a tough gunfight.

Turning the option off in the settings menu only disables it for yourself, so you will still be able to hear the post-death frustration of anyone you happen to take down. If you want to turn that off too though, all you need to do is change your Game Voice Channel setting to anything outside of the 'All Lobby' option.

So, that should give you some answers if you were wondering 'can you turn off proximity chat in Warzone 2'? In the meantime though, find out how to tilt your gun in MW2 with this handy guide.
