What is the Warzone 2 Data Heist event and the rewards?

The Data Heist event has just gone live, and we've got all the details you'll need if you're confused about what to do or what you get. While you can still do all of your favorite things in Warzone without interruption, certain events give you a chance to pick up new gear and earn extra XP.
You might need this event explained though, as it can be quite confusing to figure out what you need to do in the already chaotic Warzone experience.
What is the Data Heist event?
The Data Heist event is exclusive to Ashika Island and the Resurgence sub-mode, so you won't be able to take part if you're an Al Mazrah purist.
The event itself will start during the collapse of the second ring, and three uplink stations will become available across Ashika Island's smaller map space. Players will then be able to work their way over to these new stations and download intel to get some nice rewards.
You will have to be content with a bunch of tough Shadow Company AI foes at each of the uplink stations though - which some players aren't too happy with - so make sure you come suitably prepared for a fight.
Furthermore, other players can halt or interrupt your download progress by using the DDOS Field Upgrade or simply contesting the area, so make sure you're alert and on your guard to deal with any interference if and when it does arrive.
Warzone 2 Data Heist event rewards
Players who complete their download at the uplink stations as part of the Data Heist event will be gifted a handy set of rewards. While not necessarily the most exciting things in the world, they can help you push through to a win that you otherwise might have missed out on.
Here are all of the Warzone 2 Data Heist event rewards that you can earn:
- Cash
- Tactical Equipment
- XP
- Killstreaks (complete more than one uplink station)
As you can see, nothing groundbreaking here but any free reward is still welcome - and you can also pick up items from the Shadow Company AI that you take down as a bonus.
