Call of Duty MW2 (Modern Warfare 2) will have players set up their loadouts and get as many killstreaks as possible on October 28. Will MW2 Be On Game Pass?
Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that it is planning to buy Activision for $68.7 billion. That deal, however, has not been finalized as trade commissions around the world still need to approve it. This means that Call of Duty, as of the time of reporting, is not Xbox's first-party IP.
Due to the acquisition not being finalized, that means that Call of Duty MW2 will not be on Xbox Game Pass during the first day of its release. If the deal between Activision and Microsoft is approved, however, we could definitely see all of the Call of Duty games, not just MW2, on Xbox Game Pass sometime in the future.
For example, after the Bethesda buyout deal was approved, pretty much all of the publisher's available games like Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and Deathloop are on Xbox Game Pass.
If you can't wait to play Call of Duty MW2 on October 28, you can check out the different editions available for the game. Also, if you're planning to check out the game on PC, the minimum and recommended specs have been released.
- Thankfully, there are no tactical nukes in Call of Duty MW2.
Call of Duty: MW2 Alternatives on Xbox Game Pass
There are many great first-person shooters on Xbox Game Pass, despite lacking the most current Call of Duty game. This would include the terrific Titanfall 2, Halo Infinite, and Battlefield V, which provide compelling multiplayer experiences. There's also the chaotic Doom series and Dishonored series that both present unique FPS gameplay styles.
