How to save in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
If you're in a pinch and need to exit your Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty game, check out how to save and leave your game at a moment's notice
In pure Soulslike fashion, having a respite is a huge moment of relief, and finding bonfires - or Battle Flags, in this case - deliver vast amounts of dopamine. However, sometimes you may find yourself in a situation that is dragging on a little too long, with you needing to leave and save the game from attending to real-world problems.
If you’re hit with this scenario and need to find out how to save Wo Long, here is how to do it to save you any frustrations.
How do you save your game?
Unfortunately, as is the case with many of these types of games, saving isn’t as simple as pausing the game and selecting the option. In the case of Wo Long, you will need to use the previously mentioned Battle Flags to save your game.
Generally, there is a handful scattered around the level. These aren’t to be confused with Marking Flags, which are used to fortitude your morale rank, but you’re looking for the specific ones where you can rest and level up your character.
Every time you use one of these, the game will autosave, allowing you to leave and return at that exact moment once you start up again. If you need to leave mid-game, you will find yourself back at the last Battle Flag you rested at when you reload the game.
It’s not ideal, but it prevents players from creating save states to bypass the incredibly challenging difficulty of the game. Some players love it, whilst others hate it, however, you have to admire developers’ attempts to push players to their limits.
