"It's gonna be May," Justin Timberlake once told us, and the fifth month of 2024 has some new Game Pass games for Xbox and PC players to follow up from last month's arrivals Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Little Kitty, Big City, and Immortals of Aveum.

It's still early, though, and we're expecting more announcements to come. For now, here's everything you can play.

Xbox Game Pass games this month

There's a fantastic mix of games coming to the service this month, headlined by titles like Octopath Traveler, Octopath Traveler 2, The Callisto Protocol, and many more.

This supports the excellent selection that's already been added so far this month, giving you plenty to play if you're feeling lost - or plenty to add to that ever-growing backlog!

Games Platforms Date Added
Octopath Traveler Cloud, Console, PC June 6
Octopath Traveler 2 Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S June 6
Depersonalization PC June 12
Isonzo Cloud, Console, PC June 13
The Callisto Protocol Cloud, Console, PC June 13
Still Wakes the Deep Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S June 18
My Time at Sandrock
Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S June 19
Keplerth Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S (EA Play) June 25
SteamWorld Dig Cloud, Xbox Series X|S June 26
SteamWorld Dig 2 PC, Xbox Series X|S June 26
Robin Hood – Sherwood Builders Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S June 27

Both Octopath Traveler and its sequel are some of the best turn-based RPGs in recent memory, with the latter being easily one of my favourite games of all time. What's more, this is the first time that the second game has been available on Xbox - so if you've been patiently waiting then now is the perfect time to jump in!

Furthermore, while it's still a couple of months until Halloween, you can still scare yourself silly with the space horror of The Callisto Protocol. We gave it 4/5 back in our review, praising its visuals and weighty combat.

This is just the first wave of games joining the platform in June though, so make sure to stay tuned for more updates as we work our way through the month.

In addition to these games, you can obtain a variety of perks at the moment with an Xbox Game Pass subscription. If you're curious to know what you can get, here are some of the perks on offer:

  • 3 free months of Discord Nitro (valid until June 29, 2024)
  • 3 free months of YouTube Premium
  • Loot for games including Sea of Thieves, Vigor, MultiVersus and more

Games leaving Game Pass in June 2024

As of the time of writing, the following are leaving on June 15, as per the Xbox blog post:

  • FIFA 22 (Console and PC)
  • F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Stranded Deep (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Sword and Fairy Together Forever (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Much like the games being added, there will likely be another wave announced later this month, so keep your eyes peeled just in case there's something on your backlog!

What is Xbox Game Pass? Riot Games and EA Play explained

If you're new to the Xbox ecosystem, or just Xbox Game Pass in general, the easiest way to explain the service is that it's a subscription service for games.

Depending on the tier you opt for, you'll get access to a huge number of games, potentially across both Xbox consoles, your Windows PC, and even via your phone using cloud streaming.

Naturally, it wouldn't be worth the price if the games weren't of a certain level of quality, but Microsoft does a great job of curating its library with an array of bangers.

Aside from first-party releases like Halo Infinite and Starfield, indie darlings like Celeste, and third-party games like Lies of P, there are also additional discounts available and a series of perks like the aforementioned Discord Nitro, starter packs for games like SMITE, and much more.

Perhaps my favourite perks, however, relate to Riot Games and EA.

If you link your Riot account and your Xbox Game Pass subscription, you'll unlock goodies in LoL, TFT, VALORANT, Wild Rift, and even Legends of Runeterra, which I've listed below:

League of Legends

  • All League of Legends Champions on Day One (including all 160+ released so far)
  • +20% XP boost

League of Legends: Wild Rift

  • All League of Legends Wild Rift Champions on Day One (including all 80+ released so far)
  • +20% XP boost

Legends of Runeterra

  • All cards in the Foundation set

Teamfight Tactics

  • 1-Star Rare Little Legend
  • 1 monthly Arena skin

VALORANT

  • All Agents on Day One (including new arrival, Clove)
  • +20% Match XP boost for Battle Pass and Events

On the other hand, you also get additional content from EA, including a huge array of games, and additional discounts.

That means that with EA Play included in Game Pass, you'll get access to titles like Battlefield 2042, Dead Space Remake, and the criminally underrated Wild Hearts. There's also a huge number of classic titles included, too, including the Mass Effect Trilogy, Jade Empire, Mirror's Edge and the Crysis games.
