Not all guns are made equal, especially when it comes to the assault rifles available in XDefiant. With various stats like damage, recoil, rate of fire, and mobility to consider, you may want to know how all the ARs stack up against one another.

Tier list explained

ACR 6.8

The ACR 6.8 has been crowned king of assault rifles by pretty much the entire community, making it an easy choice for the top pick and our sole S-tier weapon for this list.

It's consistent and excels in nearly all areas, with a high rate of fire, solid damage per shot, and low recoil. While SMGs are better as close range, and marksman rifles at long range, the ACR is the best at bridging the gap and ensuring you have a chance no matter the situation.

M16A4

the M16A4 in XDefiant

The differences between the ACR and M16A4 can largely come down to preference, as this weapon features burst fire rather than an automatic trigger.

Its high damage rewards accuracy especially, as two bursts can drop most enemies. However, you'll want to keep at a medium distance for most encounters due to the disadvantage at the closer ranges.

AK-47

Who doesn't love the old reliable AK-47? Like most incarnations of the weapon in this medium, it can be hard to handle and control, but the high damage more than makes up for it, allowing you to tear through enemies.

It especially benefits from attachments that can fix its shortcomings, but even if you're good enough to not need them, few weapons will outmatch the Kalashnikov.

LVOA-C

The LVOA-C combines features of the AR and SMG, with a comically large barrel and high damage from the former, and a stupidly fast fire rate from the latter.

Seriously, the fire rate of this matches most of the SMGs in XDefiant, but with the higher damage, your time to kill (TTK) will be much lower.

The biggest downside is the high recoil, making it less effective the further you are away from your target, but if you can keep to close-quarter engagements, you'll excel.

MDR

The MDR is pretty much a worse version of the LVOA-C, making it largely redundant. It's still a good gun, and you'll excel in CQC, but why bother with the second choice?

M4A1

The M4A1 is also a worse version of another assault rifle, it just happens to be the ACR, which really sucks for M4 fans.

Its recoil is slightly lower, but not enough to make much of a difference. The damage is also lower, and despite the higher fire rate, the TTK is still slower than it is better.

There isn't much to redeem this gun unless you want to cosplay as a Navy SEAL - to which I'd ask, what are you doing with your life?

XDefiant is likely to get more weapons as it gets older, and balance adjustments may see some of the guns on this tier list swap places over time. We'll keep this guide updated to reflect any changes.
