While most of your shooting in XDefiant will be done with your primary weapon, there are many situations that call for the sidearm to be pulled from its holster. With the 93R being the best among the secondary weapons, it's worth kitting it out to make the best weapon loadout possible.

  • Muzzle: Muzzle Brake
  • Optic: Reflex Sight
  • Magazine: Extended Mag
  • Rear Grip: Quick Draw

The 93R's strengths are in its fire rate and damage per burst fire, so my recommended loadout consists of attachments that solve some of its weaknesses instead.

The Muzzle Brake is a good start as it reduces the horizontal recoil, which can get out of control if you fire off bursts without a break. It's especially useful if you are fighting someone slightly further away than you'd like.

It's worth throwing an Optic onto the weapon as well, with the Reflex Sight being the most balanced of the ones available.

With 15 bullets in a mag, I also recommend the Extended Mag to bring that up to 30 total bullets. It does slow the reload speed as a consequence, but the situations that call for a sidearm will rarely see you burn through the magazine in one go.

Finally, the Quick Draw Rear Grip boosts your aim-down-sight speed, so the time between pulling out the 93R and aiming at your target is reduced.

For alternatives, if your playstyle keeps you in more medium-ranged engagements, it's worth using the Barrel Extender and Heavy Grip. This gives you better range and control to go along with it, but this is a more niche build considering most of the time you use the 93R, you'll be in spitting range.

When to use the 93R

The 93R is the best of the secondary weapons currently, but it doesn't necessarily fit every build, so there are two schools of thought to consider when pairing the gun with a primary.

Firstly, if you have a long-ranged gun like a sniper or marksman rifle, the 93R is a good choice for when enemies are closer than you'd like, meaning you have a chance to put up a fight.

On the other hand, you can go all in on the close-range build and pair it with SMGs or high fire-rate ARs so it's always useful in a fight.

The gun also works really well with a GSK Riot Shield in particular, allowing you to compete with many primary weapons.
