The Vector is an iconic SMG in multiplayer shooters and while it's not the strongest weapon in XDefiant, the right attachments in your loadout will put it on par with the rest of its contemporaries.

Attachments
- Muzzle: Barrel Extender
- Barrel: Stabilising Barrel
- Front Rail: Tactical Grip
- Optic: Reflex Sight
- Rear Grip: Quick Draw Grip
- Stock: Precision Stock
Like the rest of the SMGs, you'll want to play a run-and-gun style with the Vector to really play to its strengths. However, the attachments are vital in dealing with the gun's weaknesses, such as its unwieldy recoil and poor range.
To solve the range problem, a Barrel Extender comes in handy to give you a bit more distance with the gun, so you can compete at mid-ranges.
The Stabilising Barrel also helps with control over the Vector by providing better horizontal and vertical recoil control. The Tactical Grip improves this further with better recoil recovery time.
I recommend slapping a Reflex Sight on as well, due to the poor iron sights. You can opt for a different Optic that suits you, but the Reflex is the most well-rounded.
The Quick Draw Grip on the rear lets you pull out the Vector faster and increases your movement speed when aiming down sights.
Finally, the Precision Stock helps with the rest of the recoil problems, giving you a beam of rapid-fire lead that will shred any enemies in your path.
Equipment
- Device: Flash Grenade
- Secondary: 686 Magnum
Like with the other SMGs, the Flash Grenade is by far the most useful throwable to pair with a mobile playstyle. It offers the utility of escape and lets you blind a room of enemies to have a better time taking them out or attacking an objective.
Due to the lack of range on the Vector - even with the Barrel Extender - you'll want something that's more reliable at mid-to-long ranges; I recommend the 686 Magnum.
The magnum has no damage fall-off up to 50 metres, allowing you to reliably two-shot enemies to the head and three-shot enemies to the body if you can hit your shots.
