YuGiOh Master Duel Starter Decks: How Important Is Your Starter Choice?
As stated earlier, you can choose from the YuGiOh Master Duel starter decks upon completing the tutorial. There are some key differences between each deck which we will dive into, but your overall choice isn't too important.
It's best to select the one which looks like the most fun to you, but it's worth bearing in mind that they vary in complexity, so we'll also highlight which is the best for YuGiOh newbies and veterans alike. Lastly, you can earn the other two decks relatively quickly by completing the missions, so if you don't like your initial choice, you'll soon have more deck options.

YuGiOh Master Duel Starter Decks: Power Of The Dragon
Of all the YuGiOh Master Duel starter decks, Power of the Dragon is the simplest and most classic deck. It will look and feel familiar for anyone who is vaguely aware of YuGiOh, and revolves around fusion summoning dragon monsters.
Fusion summoning is the most basic form of summoning in the game, and lets you pull monsters from the Extra Deck with specific cards. It has some extremely powerful cards, and can be adjusted into a beat down deck very easily, which we highlight in the best YuGiOh Master Duel decks guide.

YuGiOh Master Duel Starter Decks: Link Generation
The second option is the Link Generation deck, which is built around a cyber-mech aesthetic. It's slightly more complex than the previous deck, and is built around the mechanic of link summoning, which has a snowball effect of progressively more powerful cards.
This means you begin with weaker cards, and send the ones with something called a 'link rating' to the Graveyard, which lets you summon more powerful cards - and rinse and repeat.

YuGiOh Master Duel Starter Decks: Synchro Of Unity
The last starter deck is the Synchro of Unity, a deck built round synchro summoning that has the potential to be the most powerful. It's also a lot more complicated due to this, but the premise of synchro summoning is that you combine monsters with the same level to summon powerful monsters from the Extra Deck.
This is a hard deck to counter initially, as you can throw out a lot of low level monsters, which your opponent will spend vital actions having to deal with.
YuGiOh Master Duel Starter Decks: Which Should You Choose?
We suggest the Power of the Dragon deck for newer players, as it's the most straightforward and simple to utilise effectively. If you are familiar with all the more complex mechanics of YuGiOh (in which case why are you reading this?) then you cannot go wrong with the Synchro of Unity deck, which has the most potential of the three.
Ultimately, knowing your deck and all its potential stratagems is more important than picking the most powerful one, so regardless of your choice, spend some time reading over all the cards and their abilities.
That's our breakdown of the YuGiOh Master Duel starter decks, and now you should know which deck is best for you.
