Edifier W320TN review: Sleek sound, even greater design

Overall, the Edifier W320TN is a great package, and an even greater option for anyone who prefers this type of shape in your ear. The sound is great, providing an enjoyable audio experience while also boasting a very simple set-up and sleek design.

The only major downside is the pinch control, but otherwise, these earbuds have everything you would want for listening to music in this particular price range.

The main selling point of the EDIFIER W320TN hardware for many will be the open-fit design combined with Adaptive Noise Cancellation, as traditionally if you want decent noise-cancelling earbuds, you’re limited to wires or earbuds that go into your ear with the foam insert - something that not everyone finds comfortable.

Fortunately, the EDIFIER W320TN offers an Airpod-style design with adaptive noise cancellation all for only £99.99 / $99.99, which is considerably more cost-effective than other headphones of this quality on the market.

Simplicity at its best

EDIFIER W320TN in the case

The first thing you will notice when opening up your EDIFIER W320TN is the small box they come in, something we have come to expect from earbuds, but it's always welcome so that there is less waste.

Personally, I opted for the grey, which looks incredibly sleek in the ear, but there is also a white colourway if that's more to your tastes.

The first step once you’ve got the earbuds out of the box is to connect them to a device, which is an absolute breeze to do. All you need is to open the case, press the small button on the back, and the device comes up almost instantly.

It may not seem like a big deal, but being able to connect so seamlessly is massive for quality of life. Once you’re connected, you're all good to go and can get some bangers playing in your ears.

What's more, there is also Google Fast Pair for any Android users using the earbuds - making connecting even simpler for Android users. Once you’ve got through the connecting process, which in this case is incredibly quick, it’s time to get some tunes on the go, and the EDIFIER W320TN doesn’t falter here at all. It’s simple to connect, and great when you do.

Don’t get me wrong, these may not blow your socks off, but for under £100 / $100, the audio is very clear regardless of what you’re listening to.

Effective noise cancelling

EDIFIER W320TN out of the case

On top of this, the Adaptive Noise Cancellation is effective despite the design of the earphones, and it often successfully blocks out a lot of the ambient sound near me, which you wouldn't expect given the shape, doing a good job of eliminating the majority of the more subtle sounds of everyday life.

The major drawback for the EDIFIER W30TNs is the pinch control. In theory, this works great, by simply pinching the end of the earbud to skip songs or answer calls. In reality, this is a more finicky version of simply tapping the bottom.

It’s meant to offer greater control, but for me at least, I could never quite get it to be effective, as I'd either not pinch it hard enough, or only pinch it once hard enough when I wanted to do two squeezes. It’s by no means a dealbreaker, but remains one of its major downsides overall.

Despite the pinch control not functioning quite as well as I would like, there is no denying just how good the EDIFIER W320TNs look when in your ear. They’re subtle enough to not be too noticeable, but the actual earbud and case are very sleek.

The case is easily able to fit into the pocket of a pair of jeans too, which makes taking them on the go much more viable, as in the past, I have had earbuds where the case was so big I would either need to take a jacket or a bag just to bring them along with me.

The Verdict

EDIFIER W320TN

Overall, the Edifier W320TN is a great package, and an even greater option for anyone who prefers this type of shape in your ear. The sound is great, providing an enjoyable audio experience while also boasting a very simple set-up and sleek design.

The only major downside is the pinch control, but otherwise, these earbuds have everything you would want for listening to music in this particular price range.
