The Streamplify Hydraulic Green Screen is a portable option for streamers looking to get into the hobby, whilst also providing a space-saving solution in the process.

Streamplify is a brand known for its expertise in gaming and streaming hardware, and as such, the Hydraulic Green Screen serves as a great option for anyone looking to add a touch of professionalism and sleekness to their streaming platforms.

Whether you’re a hobbyist, streamer, or perhaps even a budding photographer or filmmaker, the Streamplify Hydraulic Green Screen offers a crease-resistant, water-resistant (and portable!) option.

We were lucky enough to get our hands on one to test out. To see our full thoughts, read the full review below.

GGRecon Verdict

The Streamplify Hydraulic Green Screen offers a solid experience whilst being a great space-saving option for people with limited space.

Not everyone needs access to a green screen 24/7, and as such, having one that can be packed away quickly, easily and with limited fuss is ideal for most.

The screen itself functions beautifully, offering an easy solution to either jazz up or eliminate your background completely.

All in all, the kit is accessible enough, and the only real limitation is your software choice (and imagination).

Everything you need comes ready in one portable carry case. In terms of assembly, limited instructions were provided and indeed, limited assembly was required.

All you need to do in order to get set up is unpackage the box, apply the wheels to the base of the case, and then roll the screen up with the handle.

You can then lock the platform in place by rotating the wheel plate. Considering it’s a free-standing screen, the base feels sturdy, and I had no issues with the screen bowing or bending when in use.

Getting started

The Streamplify Green Screen can move in and out of the connected case through the use of a Hydraulic Lift. Essentially, you unravel the screen from the box and apply pressure to drop the screen back away.

The green screen will fold neatly back into the carry case, which can then be propped up or stored away – a lifesaver for people living in apartments or smaller (or shared) accommodations.

The whole process for this takes a matter of minutes, meaning you can go from a full setup to the screen folded and locked safely away in a cupboard easily. The lift itself felt smooth and didn’t get stuck at any point of moving, and the aluminium frame felt robust throughout the process.

With the screen measuring 1.5m x 2m, it fits comfortably behind a desk and provides a sizable backdrop with plenty of extra room. The base is thin too, meaning it could operate as a room divide but be wide enough to provide a seamless experience.

You may need something a tad bigger if you’re looking to get into serious photography or filmmaking. Still, for a hobbyist, it’s a dream and is perfectly catered to streaming purposes.

How does it function?

As mentioned, the Streamplify Green Screen is promoted as crease-proof, especially important as creases can cause shadows and massively disrupt certain areas of the green screen from being keyed out.

From my experience with the piece, this was true. When filming, the screen offered a seamless experience, transporting mundane surroundings into any backdrop I could imagine. This could really transform the online gaming experience, especially if you dabble in online DnD or other tabletop games.

Other than jazzing up work meetings, you can, of course, use the screen to eliminate your background and adopt a more ‘professional’ streaming look, dropping you directly into a game without fuss or distractions in the background.

This also worked well, though I did have a slight green halo when filming which OBS struggled to key out with the Chroma Key effect. However, this was tested during full daylight hours. As such, investing in proper lighting equipment can help and you can juggle effects in Premier and After Effects additionally.
