The 'Soar' trophy can be one of the most frustrating trophies to earn in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, requiring you to travel from the Financial District to Astoria with only your Web Wings - needing you to get from the bottom-left of the map to the top-right only by gliding.

Unless you've memorized every inch of the map to know every wind tunnel location in the game, unlocking the 'Soar' trophy can take hours of trial and hour unless you have this guide.

So, let's get into the exact route you need to take to successfully glide with only your Web Wings from the Financial District to Astoria to unlock the 'Soar' trophy in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

How to get the 'Soar' trophy in Marvel's Spider-Man 2

The map route you need to use to unlock the Soar trophy in Marvel's Spider-Man 2

To unlock the 'Soar' trophy in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, all you need to do is glide with only your Web Wings from the Financial District to Astoria by using the marked route shown in the image above.

This route was determined after much and error by myself until I completed the glide to have the trophy pop at the "End" marker.

In addition, you also need to unlock the following Traversal Tech Suit upgrades to provide you the benefits that will make the glide far easier:

  • Amazing Wings - Glide for longer with the Web Wings
  • Spectacular Wings - Increased Web Wings turn speed for improved handling

Ideally, you should wait to complete this trophy until you've unlocked fast travel for the Financial District, as fast travelling directly to the "Start" marker will have you spawn already gliding in the Wind Tunnel. However, you can still approach the starting point manually before beginning your glide to achieve the same results.

How to complete the 'Soar' trophy glide

Gliding through a wind tunnel to unlock the 'Soar' trophy in Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Now that you know the map route you need to take to unlock the 'Soar' trophy glide in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, the main thing to remember is to keep flying through the wind tunnels throughout the route wherever possible.

If you're unsure of an exact tunnel's spot, simply press R3 on the joystick, and they'll be highlighted in bright green. In addition, you can set custom waypoints as well between points of the route to make the traversal slightly easier.

Besides wind tunnels, there are just a couple of extra things to keep in mind as well:

The right turn in Greenwich

Turning right by the "LOOK WHO'S BACK" J. Jonah Jameson Daily Bugle sign in Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Marked by the third arrow in part one of my custom map route, getting the correct timing on this right turn in Greenwich can be tricky since the street's slightly narrow and you need to execute it halfway through a wind tunnel.

To make it easier, look out for the "LOOK WHO'S BACK" Daily Bugle sign with half of J. Jonah Jameson's face on it in black and white as shown in the above image; the street to the left of the sign is the one you need to make your right turn into.

Upper East Side air vent

The Upper East Side air event you can use to help unlock the 'Soar' trophy in Marvel's Spider-Man 2

The only other key element to remember about this 'Soar' trophy explainer in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the air vent in the Upper East Side, marked by the third to last arrow in part two of my map route.

After you've glided through the wind tunnel on the water in the Upper East Slide, this air vent will give you a further boost in the air to help you reach the final wind tunnel by Astoria Bridge. You might be able to reach it without the air vent, but this last air boost will your final stretch to the end of the map much safer.

As you glide through the final wind tunnel, the 'Soar' trophy should pop right before you reach the end of the bridge.

That's everything you need to know about how to glide from the Financial District to Astoria to unlock the 'Soar' trophy in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
